Dear STEM ambassadors
We’re looking for people to join our group of staff who talk with visitors in Open Lab, our immersive space in the Ogilvie Building where visitors can see the DNA sequencing labs. This is a great opportunity to discuss your work with the
public and school students in an informal setting. Your work does not need to involve DNA sequencing as it’s an opportunity to explore the breadth of work that happens on campus. We provide training on how to run the AV experience and use the various objects
in the room that you can use to help you talk about what you do.
We have regular group visits to campus so this is a great opportunity to develop your skills. You’d just need to spare at least 1 hour per month to be involved. Visits mainly happen during the week but there are occasional opportunities
outside of working hours if that suits you better.
If you are interested in being involved please let me know by replying to this email. I’ll then arrange some training for everyone who’s interested over the next few weeks.
Thank you for your help.
Best wishes
Steve
