Dear OCBN community, See Save the Date below for the HCA General Meeting, 27-29 June 2022. Best, Kevin and Inês __________________________________________________________________________________ Please note, we are resending the Save the Date, as we were notified that some members of our community did not receive it yesterday. If you already received the Save the Date, kindly ignore. We are pleased to announce that the next Human Cell Atlas General Meeting will be held on 27 - 29 June 2022 in Vienna, Austria. We hope this will be a hybrid meeting with in-person and virtual attendance; however, details will depend on the pandemic situation at the time. The 2022 HCA General Meeting will convene our community to share updates and insights on new HCA research and initiatives. The meeting theme is “Building draft atlases, integrating across communities, and maximizing impact.” The General Meeting will bring together computational and wet-lab biologists as well as data managers and many other groups from around the world, who will connect, plan and map a path towards the first draft of the atlas. We particularly want to welcome new researchers: Building and connecting the atlases, rendering them broadly useful and accessible, and making progress on the HCA’s goals of positively impacting medicine will take a joint effort. We hope to meet in-person but capacity will be limited. To maximise audience participation and accessibility all main sessions and breakout sessions will be live-streamed on a dedicated event platform. Sessions will also be made available for on-demand viewing on the event platform, for those not able to attend in real-time. Safety is our top priority for this meeting. We will be following European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control guidelines as well as the recommendations of the HCA Organizing Committee. Information on COVID-19 safety will be available on the HCA and the meeting websites in the coming weeks. REQUEST: Healthy Pediatric Samples from Oral, Nasal, Pharyx, and Lung [EXT]

Hi All, I hope everyone remains safe and well. One goal for 2022 for our Oral & Craniofacial Bionetwork is to increase our intra- and inter-group collaboration. As part of our meta-network to map the inhalation interface (HCA, HuBMAP, CZI), I am looking for collaborators within our OCBN that have access to healthy human tissues from any oral, nasal, pharyngeal, and/or lung site. The goal is to perform optimization and preliminary analysis on FFPE tissues of any of these tissue types from 0-18 year old subjects. There is special interest for those with multiple samples from the same subject as well as those that include male and female tissues of diverse ancestry. Hi All, Thank you for your attendance and participation on Thursday for our first virtual symposium for the HCA-OCBN. This will certainly be the first of many symposia as we continue to grow and discover. There were some questions about registration sent to us about HCA membership, OCBN membership, and the general (virtual) meeting that is upcoming on the 28th-30th of June. I have created a survey with direct links to address these questions that should take ~5 minutes to complete. Dear all, I hope everyone is well. We have the final programme for our first Symposium to launch the HCA Oral and Craniofacial BioNetwork. The goal of this meeting will be to introduce all the members to each other for the purposes of setting goals, project alignment, and further collaboration. We will have an overview of all the teams that will be presenting either their published work or their ongoing projects, and two inspiring talks: Sarah Teichmann bringing us ’the big picture’ of the Human Cell Atlas, and Purushothama Rao Tata presenting the HCA Lung Bionetwork development and their road towards a Lung Cell Atlas. Hi All, I hope everyone is well. We would like to organize goal a one-day, mini-symposium in June. This meeting will be focused on introducing members to each other for the purposes of setting goals, project alignment, and further collaboration.
