[Stemambassadors] Can you help? Meet the expert sessions, DNA extraction and Sequence bracelets 3rd March various times

Hi STEM Ambassadors We have a group of 60 Year 5 and year 6 pupils (8-10 yrs) visiting the campus between 10am and 2:30 pm. We are running parallel activities with the group across the campus. We are looking for STEM Ambassadors who could support the visiting by taking part in or running the following activities: DNA extraction session and Investigate activity for 30 students x 2 Help students to extract DNA from a strawberry using household items and help them to carry out a variation investigation and report their results Meet the expert (30 minutes) x 2 Groups of students rotate around different staff working at the campus to find out more about what they do as a job. DNA bracelets and code crackers (30 minutes) x 2 Help students to make a DNA bracelet and help them to decode DNA codes. A rough timetable is shown below: Group 1 (30) Group 2 (30) 10:00 Open Lab Intro to DNA and genes FG 10:30 Technician skills activities Staff Recruited DNA extraction and Investigate FG + 3 ambassadors needed 11:15 Break Break 11:30 DNA sequence bracelets and code crackers AD + 2 Ambassadors Meet the expert 3 - 5 ambassadors needed 12:00 12:45 Intro to DNA and genes FG Open Lab 13;15 DNA extraction and Investigate FG + 3 ambassadors needed Technician skills activities Staff Recruited 14:00 Meet the expert 3 - 5 ambassadors needed DNA sequence bracelets and code crackers AD + 2 Ambassadors 14:30 Depart Depart Any of these activities can be recorded for your activity log.
