Hi all,
The under bench reagent freezer in the Organoid room was left open today. I couldn't find anyone working in the room at the time but it is now sealed, locked and back at temperature. Nothing thawed as the testo alert went out and was investigated, but please do make sure to close/lock the fridges/freezers when done working or taking reagents out.

Hi Vicky,
Thanks for letting me know.
I will also need to work in the RSF throughout the afternoon tomorrow ☹ Would greatly appreciate if we could postpone.
Thanks,
Jack

Subject: [Cellgenrsflab] Emergency lighting works in R1-125 and R1-126
Hi all,
Sothams are fixing the emergency lighting in the R1-125 and R1-126 – they are fixing the circuit this morning (in 15 minutes) and the lights will need to be off for 30 minutes, if anyone urgently needs to work in there now, please let me know.
They also want to test the lighting tomorrow afternoon, which I’ve just found out will require the main lights to be off between 1pm and 4pm tomorrow. The emergency lighting will remain on, but obviously that’s a very low light to work in.
This can be postponed if required, so if anyone needs to access either the organoid room or tissue processing room tomorrow afternoon, please let me know and I will request another date.
Best wishes,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,
Madelyn and I will need the tissue processing room tomorrow for at least part of the time indicated for light testing. We have meetings in the morning so rely on afternoon time in the room. If this could be postponed or split up into shorter time frames of testing (like 45 min to an hour at a time), that would be great.
Cheers,
Claudu

Hi all,
Please be aware that fumigation work will be carried out in the Organoid room in the RSF on Thursday 23rd of November.
This is to enable the engineer to carry out repairs on the MSC.
Please do not enter or use the room between 8am - 10am.

Hi again,
The fumigation will be carried out first thing in the morning of the 23rd, and then the Monmouth engineer will repair the MSC in the afternoon.
I have booked all the hoods for the morning during the fumigation as they have advised not to use the room during this time.
It will be safe to use the room in the afternoon whilst the engineer is there, however please bear in mind that this will likely disrupt work and I would suggest minimising the use of the room as much as possible, I will of course communicate out when the engineer has finished in the afternoon.
Please let me know asap if there are any concerns.
Best wishes,
Vicky

Subject: Organoid room MSC remedial works
Hi all,
Please be advised that a Monmouth engineer will be on site next Thursday (23rd) to carry out the remedial works on the faulty MSC.
We’re still waiting on a date for the fumigation to be carried out, however it should be before the 23rd – we will update you as soon as we hear anything and double check the timings with users.
Best wishes,
Vicky

Hi all,
The new email alias for the CellGen RSF labs is now live cellgenrsflab(a)sanger.ac.uk<mailto:cellgenrsflab@sanger.ac.uk> .
This should reach everyone who has received an induction to the space.
I have attached the November updates that were sent out last week as several people did not receive it.
_______
Hi all,
CellGen office R123:
* IT equipment including screens , keyboards and mice are now in place for all desks. The mice are wireless, there is a button on the underside of the mouse that needs to be turned on to use it.
* The desks remain a hot-desking space, please clean up the desk area after you finish working.
Meeting Rooms R125 and R126 (not to be confused with the labs R1-125 and R1-126):
* Tables and chairs are in place and the rooms are useable.
* One meeting room has a TV for zoom meetings, the other is awaiting a mounting bracket, and both rooms are waiting for suitable cameras to become available.
* These will be available to book on the resource scheduler in the coming weeks.
Lighting issues:
* The lights currently automatically turn off overnight, there is now a ticket in place to have this feature disabled to prevent late night users being left in the dark.
* Emergency lighting has been partially repaired, some additional works may take place to increase the number of emergency lights but there is no firm date for this.
Heating issues:
* We're aware that some spaces are now getting colder with the exterior drop in temperature, a temporary solution will be put in place and a permanent one discussed.
RSF LC meetings:
* There are now monthly LC meetings for the RSF building with people from CellGen, Sci-ops, Mosaic, Ensocell, Scientific support services and health and safety. If there are wider issues you would like discussed there please do flag them.
Lab Chairs:
* New Capisco lab chairs (flat seat) have been ordered to replace the saddle chairs. One set of saddle chairs will remain in each lab for users who prefer them.
New equipment:
* A minifuge with strip tube adapter is now available in the tissue processing room.
* A 10x adapter is now available in the tissue processing room.
Organoid room MSC:
* An Engineer has been on site to inspect this, but it will require a further visit before it is operational again. No firm timeline on when this will occur.
Decorating:
* If anyone has old posters from conferences or artwork in their offices that are unused we're looking to decorate the CellGen spaces a bit more, please get in touch.
