Hi All,
The Wetlands work planned for this week was postponed due to water levels and potential
for flooding in the wetlands.
We would like to try and get the 3 days work in before Spring but that window is closely
rapidly, in advance of our meeting next week does anyone have any thoughts on when we
cannot do the work from due to wildlife, ground nesting birds in the area described
below?
The work will be:
- Tree roots removal on the southern edge of pond 1 (large pond) and west side of
pond 4 (the one with all the trees at the side of it) - these areas are right next to
eachother to reduce disturbance to the rest of the Wetlands and are also near the summer
walk between the ponds and only just across the main path from the plant material
collection area.
- Vegetation removal of boundary on the southern edge of pond 1 - again same area
as above.
Therefore, the disturbance will be approx. 20m into the Wetlands along the summer path
between the ponds from the permissive path, and some disturbance to the path (that we will
clean up to make access possible straight after the works along the permissive path). As
it is a much smaller area than the works last year I am hopeful that the disturbance will
not impact on the wider area and ecosystem.
Your thoughts very welcome please.
Thanks,
Sarah
